My journey into self-employment – and why ME business group is more than a start-up

The step into self-employment was not a spontaneous idea for me, but the result of long observation and many experiences. Over the years, I have seen how difficult it can be for companies to find reliable partners in the field of HR and leadership.

Again and again, I noticed that there were many offers, but often what really counted was missing – practical relevance, authenticity and real leadership experience. Consulting remained on the surface, training was generic, and the reality of leadership in everyday life was hardly represented.

This is exactly where my motivation came from: If, on the other hand, I spent a long time looking for solutions that didn't exist – why shouldn't I create one myself?

A market full of gaps – and the chance to build something of your own

As a manager with over 20 years of experience and responsibility for more than 2,000 employees, I have understood what is really missing:

  • tailor-made leadership training that is oriented towards people, not rigid concepts,
  • digital platforms that enable learning in a sustainable way,
  • Recruiting solutions that tell the difference between CV and real suitability – powered by AI.

This is exactly how the ME business group was born – with the brands:

  • MEvelopment – modern, modular management training, individually adaptable,
  • MEcademy – digital learning platform for sustainable continuing education,
  • MEcruit – Recruiting platform with intelligent matching (launch 2026).

In this way, we are creating something that does not yet exist in this form: a bridge between technology, humanity and real leadership competence.

Desire to travel

For me, self-employment is more than a professional decision. It is a journey – a journey that begins with an idea, leads through doubt and finally takes shape in a vision.
