In the past, the path to becoming a manager was clear: those who were the strongest professionally were promoted.
The best member of the team took on responsibility – not because you could lead, but because you had a professional advantage. „ You didn't have to learn leadership, it just happened. „
This principle has (apparently) worked for a long time.
But today, every employee can get all the expertise in the world from an AI in seconds.
Analysis, strategy, expertise – everything is available, everything is available.
This no longer requires a manager.
But does that make managers superfluous?
Quite the opposite.
Because the demands on leadership have – according to Future of Jobs Report 2025 of World Economic Forum – fundamentally changed.
Technology takes over knowledge.
But what remains are the skills that no AI can replace:
- Emotional Intelligence – understand what moves people.
- Empathetic communication – listening, interpreting, reacting.
- Critical thinking – Enduring ambiguity, making decisions without having all the data.
- Build trust – Designing spaces in which people are courageous.
- Self-guided tour – inner stability in a world full of change.
These skills are not "nice to have", they are the new foundation of modern leadership.
And this is exactly where the ME business group with MEvelopment at.
Our approach: ME stands for people.
After all, the manager of tomorrow is not in competition with AI – he or she has different skills and qualities.
It uses technology to create space for what really matters: connection, responsibility, trust.
We develop leaders who show attitude, provide orientation and lead through clarity – even (and especially) when the data is incomplete.
So anyone who believes that AI makes leadership superfluous has not understood the principle.
AI can provide knowledge.
But it cannot shape culture, create meaning, show attitude.
That remains deeply human.
There is an exciting podcast about this "Tech, AI and butterflies" –
on the question of how leadership must change,
so that they can return to a technological world humanly relevant becomes.
